I bought a 2017 f250 Powerstroke new it was a lariat it has the trailer sway control 10000gvwr package tow technology bundle that being said I bought a new camper and hooked up and it would not charge the camper battery while in tow I looked up in owners manual and it said I needed a fuse and I tried it no success does this truck suppose too have the capacity to charge batteries
there are fuses inside the cab and under the hood. It you are still under warranty you can take it back and let them fix it like it should have been from the start.
There are a lot of posts on this, with the upper end packages the power to the trailer charge circuit is not hot till the brakes have been applied and possible the vehicle moving.
I believe if you have thr factory trailer brake controller you will NOT have or need the fuse for the trailer connector charging circuit.
On my 2018 F450 Platinum I have to actually drive the truck before the camper or trailer batteries will start to charge.
There is a 30amp fuse that comes off the main line of your camper that is common to blow it could/would cause your inverter to not charge the batteries while towing and not allow your breakaway to work properly.. All of your lights would work properly while hooked up to the truck but not when unhooked
i know this because i have a patent on a product that allows for the trailer lights(marker tail and running) to be turned on when unhooked and is one of the the most commonly diagnosed problems when customers contact me in regards to their LITESWICH not working..
