Anyone have a link. We'd love to do this if it's cost effective. I know Ford designed them for short people, but the OEM steps just look odd to me hanging so low.
I don't care for the look of the low hanging boards, totally a form over function choice.
I see in other posts that I need 2015 and up F-150 brackets, just trying to nail down the part number now.
I just found some 2017 F150 running boards with brackets and sold my stock ones all of craigslist. I actually made $100 after it was all said and done. Install is very straightforward. Much better look in my opinion.
Curious if the retractable running boards come down as far as the stock on the F250. Anyone know the difference. I too am getting to the rickety leg age. Thanks

I never measured my amp boards but they feel slightly lower. My wife thinks they’re lower too by effort getting in if that makes sense. It’s easier to get in the truck and the surface area is bigger.

Just installed AMP's over the weekend, definitely lower. Momma tried them out and smiled.
This brings u a question for me. Will 2020 (?).F250 that's now lower maintain same gap between truck and RB or will they tighten it up. I expect no change which means they'll just be closer to ground. Have to revisit pics at debut in Feb see if I can tell...
How hard of an install? Simple bolt on? I believe there is also a software update required so you can control them through the UI ?
Pretty simple plug n play. Install motors on hinged brackets. Unbolt factory brackets with running boards attached, replace with AMP hardware using factory mounting location (torque wrenches needed). Controller with wiring harness installed in engine compartment feed harness through fenders plugin motor run control wiring through existing grommet in floor (crew cab only) splice to OBD connector. Installed puddle lights. Done! I took my time and did a little extra, about 5 hours. I added synthetic grease to gears and sealed the gearbox cover with silicone because of the winter elements up here. Now that I've done it once probably 3 hours next time.
They cannot be controlled through the truck's UI. I bought the optional control switch to be able to operate inside the truck. There is a thread about that somewhere.
