I have a 2010 F-150 STX. It has the 4.6 2v. I was wondering if spending the $300 on the K&N cold air intake would be worth it for more power? Any input for more power would be appreciated. Thank you.
Cams, Heads, Headers, Intake Manifold or a Supercharger. CAI is something I consider an Appearance Item, so if you show you might think about one to clean up under the hood.
Might see a 3hp to 5hp gain on a dyno, but it won't affect the ''seat of the pants'' feel. A tune is really your best bet to semi cheaply add some giddyup to your truck.
A CAI like this might gain you a couple of HP. Might. It will also filter less well, require constant maintenance to keep it working properly, and will coat sensors etc. downstream in a sort of "goo" that will make a mess of things in the intake tract.
One good thing, if you like this kind of thing, is that you'll hear more induction noise.
