exaust manifold cracks

SCal
I have a 90 E250 with a couple small in width, cracks, but a couple inches long ,one on each manifold . (BTW,I tried the "van section of this forum, but got no results with exaust manifold, but did on this section . Maybe I can find a possible answer here. ) I would like to buy the manifold set new,but Id like to get opinions of those that have tried brands that they were either happy with or not.I have looked at dorman, that is sold through autozone. Does anyone have any experience with these for their vehicle? Im assuming theyre all the same on vans and pickups etc. that have the 351 1990
Next will be finding out why they both cracked. Could be age, age and rough rides and so on. Its a rough rider due to the poor old springs overloaded resulting in many bangs & thumps over the miles driven. 150k+

I have dorman on both sides of my F250, with a 302. Only issue is passenger side did not seal completely. Found out my exhaust was dinged. Have them on there for about 6 months now. Make sure you get new bolts. Cheap insurance.

Pretty normal finding exhaust manifold problems as these vehicles age. Dorman is "ok" aftermarket. The real fun you or the installer will have is getting those old bolts out in that confined van space --- if you have a lift I'd recommend CAB OFF --- the way they built it in the first place at the factory and my guess is you'll still be using that "blue wrench" a lot.

Also, whichever version you use,

BUY NEW HARDWARE!

The manifolds are now all cast in China, and any fasteners they supply are
suspect/don't fit/aren't even the right thread pitch
(I got an SAE stud with metric nuts)

Manifolds seem to most often crack from too much heat, often caused by a lean cylinder or 2.
Our EFI has no way to know if a particular injector is flowing less
than its friends, so when it detects a lean condition, richens all of them.
But the lean one is still lean, so that cylinder runs lean and often hot.

Also, the 302/350 exhaust manifolds seem to do it just for fun.

I haven't found a 'good or better' manifold either- 'just ok' seems to be what's out there
in the affordable aftermarket.
