Need transmission suggestions
I just bought a 2WD 1976 Ford F-150, Im also new to the old truck scene. The Truck has a Ford 360 Fe big block with C3 transmission. the tranny is shot and id like to upgrade to one with more that 3 gears and preferably a manual (doesn't have to be). Ive been doing research far ages now and cant find one thats not a C6, Ive heard that the FEs are hard to get trannys for? I don't know weather or not that true but from what I can find, it seems to be true. Any suggestions are very helpful.

Toploader would be the way to go (my Fairlane was originally 390 (visually the same as your engine, just diff stroke) with a toploader).............you'll have to work dimensions for the truck application, but once set up they last a long time.........
