If we turned it off then we'd have DDoS attacks, so that is not something we will be doing.

I started getting it yesterday, every time I visited the site, so I figured it was something new. I didn't get it today and that actually made me a bit suspicious that somebody was trying to get me to click on something yesterday. Glad to know what it's all about.

And here all this time (for the last two days) I thought it was something I wrote.

I thought one too many people hit that red triangle button with the exclamation mark in it ("Report Post") which triggered an automatic denial of my IP address / MAC address combination. I switched browsers, but the dam program saw through that one, and still denied, or at least delayed, access with the Cloudflare DDOS message. I will admit that IE was less delayed than FireFox, which never permitted access at all.

I had forgotten what DDOS meant (Distributed Denial Of Service), and then wondered how my apparently controversial comments (two posters deemed them "off topic", which I quietly disagree) could possibly be interpreted as an attempt to clog the website with unsolicited traffic, albeit my posts are likely known for being too wordy.

When I did finally get in, I expected the recent visitors log on my profile to be loaded with red moderator names having a look see to check out who this member is who is garnering all the (imagined) red triangle reports due to making a comment that apparently left some people unable to connect the dots of relevance. But then I remembered, my recent visitor list was already populated with red moderator visits prior to making my comment... so quite likely, I was already on thin ice as a member, prior to being downgraded to a dangerous bot. As it happened, I tried to type another post to explain the relevancy of the previous post made prior to the DDOS checks, but that post was denied by the DDOS checker, and lost forever. Once the door slams shut, I don't knock again.

It's actually a bit of a relief to learn that other members here, some of whom I recognize as valuable contributors to FTE forums, were getting the same DDOS check message.

Does this mean I get to carry on making comments that people can't seem to connect the dots as being relevant to the subject at hand? Um, maybe not. Banning remains an option...

Sorry, that was me. Itchy trigger finger, you know? It's close to hunting season. Just kidding. Reps sent attempted, just in case I accidentally hit the wrong button in the future.
