First time posting on this section. I have a '69 F100 and spend my time over on the '67 thru '72 section.
I was driving around town today and noticed the truck in these pictures sitting beside a house. I stopped and knocked but no one came to the door. But....I came back later after work and the guy said he wanted to fix it up but had some health issues. He said he has an extra cab, two extra doors, a new carb, new floor pans, and a few more parts. He also has a 9" rearend that can be seen in the pictures, but he said it is locked up.
So...I asked what he wanted for it. He said he would not sell the truck alone, but would sell it with all the extra parts. He is asking $8,000.
He says it will run, but that doesn't tell me much.
Thinking about buying it, but not for $8k.
Anyone have any thoughts? I realize you don't know anything about the condition of the truck. Neither do I.
Thinking of offering him $5k. All he can do is say no, right?
Recently someone did the same thing and waited the guy out and he came down to the reasonable price, I'd act as if I might pay it and hear it run and whatever else and then make the right offer, in cash, and stick by it. He may come around. it does look pretty straight!
If all the parts are nice, 8K is not a bad place to start. All depends how bad he wants it gone and how much you want it. It is kind of hard to tell condition from the above pics and that is what price is all about.
