header help
i have a 00 single cab 4.2 with cold induction, superchip bluechip,70 mm mass airflow, true dual exhuast, it runs great, i have beat 4.6, 5.4. I want 2 know if anyone has installed headers, and is it worth it........also because my truck is a 5sp the chip counldnt remove my top speed limiter, how can i remove it????????????

I'm having the same problem with my Diablo chip. It removed the speed limiter slightly, but not completely. So I sent it back to Ken to have it reprogrammed.
The only solution i could think of is to have the speedo offset so that the speedo reads 75 when i'm actually doing the dreaded 98. This will give me an extra 20mph on the truck. Granted you have to remember that your speedo is off so you don't get slammed with tickets.

hey strick88 what is a superchip bluechip? well im surprised to hear that your speed limiter wasnt removed with the addition of the superchip. i would send it back. maybe theres something wrong with it. im not an expert but i always have my ears open when performance is being spoken. jet chips do not remove speed limit. diablo chip 50/50. and superchip 100%. someone i know that has one, has gone to 126mph with it. so i dont see why it isnt working for you. take my advice and talk to someone about that.

Hey not sure if you got those headers or not, but imho i would like to suggest you go with the headers from macperformance. there really nice arround 300 bucks and there ceramic coated. i have some on my 4.2 and theres a very nice difference. You can also go thorugh a place called centeral coast. they sell headers that are great too, there number is 1-661-823-2400. I would stay away from the jba haders. they bolt on funny and the ones i had from them cracked arround the flanges.... but thats just my oppinion.

how much were the headers with shipping? ive been looking for someone that has them, so how are they performance wise? did you install them your self? if not how much did you pay to have them intalled?

whats up quick, its been a while since i got um, if i rember right they were about 320 but i dont rember how much shipping was HANDS DOWN SUPERIOR TO THE JBA HEADERS yah i put um on myself, a few busted knuckels but nothing major. they bolt right on, not like the jba ones.

oh yah, great perfomance wise, i have a airaid intake, custome exhaust and a diablo chip, the headers were kinda like the finishing touch.... everything just came togather when i put them on

That's the downside to those headers. On the other hand, I'd wait 3 months for them.

Yah, there deffinitly worth the wait. hey i got a question for you, do you know anywhere that will reprogram my diablo chip? i put it on before exhaust, headers, and air intake. i know it can do more than what its doing now but im just not sure where to start.
