Recirculate Button cause reduced airflow / blocked
Hi, My A/C is cold, my heat is hot but when I hit the recirculate button it sounds as if the airflow is blocked. The air flow almost immediately is reduced to the vent by 95%. I removed the blower motor to check the intake. Nothing was blocking the fan or air intake. When I turn off the recirculate option the air flow is strong again.
Any help you can provide is appreciated.
When I hit the recirc or max button on my 15' it will kick into AUTO and reduce the fan speed. After you hit the button try the fan + button a few times an see if the fan speeds back up
I would agree that climate control logic would turn the fan down significantly on recirc so as not to turn the interior of the vehicle into a tornado and create huge noise from the intake and exhaust happening simultaneously. I've got a different brand of vehicle that does the same thing, reducing the fan speed on recirc. In this mode, the idea is to keep a gentle airflow like your home heat/AC system. There is no rush to exchange the inside air with outside air.
If you are pulling in outside air, the idea is "flow thru" with intake noise at the outside of the vehicle and if you have windows closed, would be limited a bit by the exit vents at the rear.
If you are able to manually increase fan speed, sounds like that is your answer if you want more flow.
