VIN Questions

My 1970 F-100 has an extra letter in the VIN and also says it has a 352 My understanding is that they stopped manufacturing them in 67'. Any insight would be appreciated!

Thru 1980, the VIN contains 11 digits. How do you know by the 1970 F100 VIN that it's a 352 since it wasn't installed after 1967?

4th digit of the VIN is the engine code:

F100/350: D = 1965 352 2V / Y = 1966/67 352 2V // Y = 1968/76 360 2V

And if you find 352 cast on the block, this is a foundry mark, does not mean it's a 352 engine.

All FE blocks were cast as 352's, but when finished at an engine plant, could be other sizes, 360, 390 or whatever.
