2003 6.0 excursion A/C problems

Ok i have a 03 excursion and the ac is not blowing cold. It has a new compressor/dryer/orfice and expansion valve and new condenser It does have the air to oil cooler but this problem was there before that. Does have a new radiator as well and fan clutch also tried the 7.3 fan clutch with no help. Low side pressure holds at 60 and high 275 to 325 and maybe 65 on a good day out vent. also have heater lines blocked off as well. What is next as im am stuck

you could try an electric pusher fan in front of the condenser coil it lowered my vent temp 8 to 10 degrees. make sure the condenser coil is clean of bugs and mud too. mine would blow hot sitting in traffic but now i just flip on the fan and good to go. How much 134a is in the system the low side numbers are a little high depending on coil temps. too much refrigerant is as bad or worse than not enough.

pusher fans didn't help. 25% less because of up dated condenser. so 3.23 lbs

So the updated condenser is smaller than original? If this the case that could be your problem I just installed a new one last week nd it was same size as old one system blowing at 45 degrees in Phoenix. The coil has to big enough to remove cabin and compressor heat from system. If I was you I would do some home work on the updated coil. Is this a dual a/c system s far as front and back a/c evap?

Who said this? Ford dealer or...?

Excursion with rear AC should have 1.93kg, or 4.246lbs, of refrigerant. I was just dealing with this (I needed a new compressor) and there was nothing in condenser info about reduced refrigerant charge

One more thing to check make sure your blend door that brings fresh air into the cab is closing all way. You can have the 40 degree evap but if it is sucking out air at 120. I have seen this on a few trucks here in az

For this Excursion (in ounces)

w/ Front AC it's 42 + 9 PAG46

w/Front and Rear AC it's 68 + 14 PAG46

Has anyone used dye in it ?(tends to collect inside the evaporator -- can't tell you the number of ounces of that crap I've drained out of customer vehicles)................and did you evac, clean, vac down, etc before loading it up with refrig R134a?

Was a scale used for the refrigerant?

Excursion ( GCC ) 2.66 lbs / 1.21kg

You're going to need to pull out a voltmeter to check voltages on the A/C Pressure Cutoff Switch and A/C Cycling Switch.....................you are also running a little high on the low side -- may be overcharged or the compressor is acting up.........................what was the ambient temp when you hooked up the gauges ?

Failing that you can always fall back to evaporative cooling in the desert --- except during the monsoon season --- helps with MPGs, but you have to carry around a large tank of water.....

(Please, please ====and DO NOT, under any circumstances tell me you wear yellow during a certain football game in AZ --- I wear RED -- GO WILDCATS (I'm an ALUM))..............
