Locked up engine... what now?

They haven't said what happened yet. I'm going to tow the vehicle down to a local shop here in the cities and before deciding to replace the engine I'm going to have them pull the serpentine belt and attempt to hand crank it and try to determine the cause.

While fixing head gaskets are within a dealership’s wheelhouse, tearing apart the bottom end, having machining work done on the block is not. While in a few cases they might do a short block, it’s not what they want to do, and the labor rate is not conducive for the work.
When my cylinder wall was hurt, it wasn’t let’s do a short block despite only 135k miles, it was the best valve is a full motor. The tone was it’s as good as new assembly line motor, the reality is .... it’s not. Not only mine, but others who have since told me.
I didn’t post this earlier as I’m not sure how knowledgeable you are, but here is my story if you care.
