Keyless entry interchangeable between trucks?
I recently picked up a 2008 F350 XL with power locks but no remote key fob. I have a 2009 F250 XLT that has power locks and a remote key fob. Does anyone know if I can change the lock system of the F250
over to the F350, or are they VIN specific?

You try programming the 2009 key fob for use with the 2008. If it goes into programming mode, no problems. If it doesn't go into programming mode, you would probably need to add the RKE module if possible.
Turn the key from the OFF position to RUN (not START) position eight times within 10 seconds
with the eighth turn ending in the RUN position. The doors will lock, and then unlock, to confirm
the vehicle is in programming mode.
Within 20 seconds, press any button on a fob. Repeat on remaining fobs.
After all remote entry transmitters have been programmed, turn the ignition to the OFF position.
The doors will lock, and then unlock, to confirm that the vehicle has exited programming mode.

For everyone's knowledge.
the KRE is not functional on 2008 model year trucks.
i did more research and tests on mine and found a TSB on installing or getting the KRE to work. According to Ford, it can't.
