Recently my excursion has been having an intermittent high idle... and wanting to lurch forward at stops. In park it idles as much a 2500rpm... need help! I could not find a vacuum leak. Sometimes, although becoming more rare, it idles normally at 750rpm... ideas?
Have you tried cleaning the IAC valve? If the Idle Air Contoller valve sticks open it would provide the additional air like a vacuum leak and could explain the high idling. It's on the backside of the throttle body, kind of hard to reach but it should unbolt fairly easily, be careful with the gasket and you can reuse it after giving the valve a good cleaning.
