F450 Backup Alarm

F450 Backup Alarm
Can this be shut off? I'm not talking about the parking aid/proximity sensor. I'm talking about the beeping backup alarm when in reverse, similar to a large commercial vehicle. Truck came with that option, and I find it annoying. Searching through the owners manual I'm not finding anything about it.
I'm sure I could find the speaker and clip the wire, but don't want to cause a CEL if applicable.
Thanks in advance.

This something new in the '19? My '17 only beeps in backing up if tailgate is down or I have the trailer hitched. At that time it pops up on the dash--with 'backup alarm' or something like that, and gives me the option to turn it off by down arrow and OK on left steering controls. This works til the next key cycle.

Honestly, I would say take it to the dealer, as see if they can disable it. As it is an option I;m sure if can be, its just a matter of how (which was your original question I know)

There is no CEL,just unplug it and remove it if you wish. The alarm isn't made by Ford it was made by ECCO with and uses a jumper harness to tie in to the rear harness. This was a dealer installed alarm, ordered as a factory option. The alarms are shipped loose in the dealer prep package. Easy enough to remove.
