I have a 1993 F250 4WD Long Bed with a straight axle front end rated for 3850#. The front right tire would start to oscillate, I guess jump might be a better word because the front of there truck on the driver side would start to act like the tire was out of round. At first this happened under hard braking, but now it also happens when you hit a bump with the left front tire. i read the other death wobble stories but are not sure they are applicable to my version of the wobble. I am going to rotate the tires to see if this changes anything.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and yes everything is a little worn. I have new brake pads on the front and new rotor on the passenger side. The left rotor was not changed because one of the bolts on the hub would not come out and the mechanic that was performing the work didn't want to strip it. i think he just wanted the truck off his rack.
Google your year truck and configuration and death wobble. See how some have fixed theirs and check your components against what they replaced that fixed it. There are MANY causes of the wobble and tires and rims are just one. Sandy
I rotated the front and rear on that side. Took it fir a spin, can not get it to repeat even with gsrd braking and pot holes. So glad , I was due for a win.
if you start feeling a shake in the seat while driving, you may have a tire that is separating on you, if you didnt see a knot on it when you rotated them
