The cap simply pries off. But it doesn't come easy. The problem is the depth of the wheel. Easy enough to remove the front with the tire iron, but impossible to get it into the rear wheel and under the cap.

I'm not sure how well that piece of wood would work. What is it, a 2x2? Might have better luck with the HD nudes!
