I've got and 86 F250 with the hot fuel option (electic pumps in tanks with recirulation). I'm trying to figure out the fuel pressure regulation scheme used on this vehicle.
On the fuel line right before the carb is a metal device with three fuel line connections. One goes to the carb and I presume the other two are the supply and return lines.
Does anyone know if this is also the fuel pressure regulator?
No, the pumps are preset and are not regulated. This is just a hook-up for the supply to block, supply to carb and return to tank.I believe that they are 6lb pumps.

Thanks. I received my Edelbrock carb last night and in the installation instructions it mentions this device. It recommends switching to a later version that has a 0.040 diameter orifice.
This may be true, I don't know why you would need to change it though, an Edelbrock will run with the same fuel pressure as a Holley will. I would try it without changing it and see how it does.
