BLIS Deactivation

Hi All,

New to the site and have an issue that I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with. I have a 19 F350 Lariat that I've recently put a flatbed on. This truck is equipped BLIS and Cross Traffic Alert and these no longer work now that the factory tail lights with the radar sensors have been removed. My question is does anyone know of a way to integrate/mount the sensors in the flatbed so that they work or is there a way to disable the warning light on the instrument cluster?

Thanks!

Both features have to be permanently disabled. Actually surprised these are the only two issues that you have, earlier build trucks would loose a lot more functions due to can bus errors.

I had my tail light apart last weekend. The BLIS module is a complete enclosure inside the light housing so you could mount it on the rear of your flatbed.

Tech Bulletin is
Q-265. This is for the Blis issue when removing a pick up bed. They will charge you for the update.

2017 F-Series Pickup only – Box Removal with BLIS
Models Affected: 2017-19 F-Super Duty – F250/F350 Pickups used for box removal

Issue: Some 2017-19 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with BLIS that have had the pickup box
removed for upfitter modification may exhibit a BLIS warning message in the message
center.
Solution: To correct this concern, use Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool version
104.01 or later to configure the BLIS system. These settings can be found under
toolbox > module programming > programmable parameters > warning lamps and
chimes and must be adjusted in multiple modules.
BLIS capability is disabled
BLIS option is not offered on Pickup box delete

Not recommended for box removal; sensors are in the factory tail lamps being
removed

Reference SSM 46387 for dealer service procedure

Thought about doing that, but isn't the module itself sealed in the tail light and need to be kept out of the weather?

You can't do anything with the sensors, the range and position is a fixed parameter and the system won't work. Ford has given the solution either order a C&C or disable a few non supported features.

not true. It flips the hell out if it gets water or dirt on it. The dumbest system ever.
