Well I finally figured out the problem, and it was such a simple thing I'm embarassed I overlooked it. I was about to unhook the positive lead from the battery when I noticed that the connection was loose. I had the truck serviced a few weeks ago for an airbag light that came on. Apparently the dealership didn't tightly secure the lead when they reconnected the battery. I had checked it visually, but I never bothered to wiggle it to make sure it was secure. duh. One full turn of the nutt and boom. My girlfriend did say...."Didn't this start after you took your truck to the dealer...?" I'm just happy it's fixed and it didn't cost a cent. Thanks again everyone, I learned a lot from this experience.
did you happen to hit a bump and change the settings?
we have a basslink at work and punk kids come in all the time and mess with the bass boost and cross over and so on. then it sounds like its blown. check those out...because your buddy might have cranked the **** out of his bass link, and when you put it in your truck would sound the same as yours if the settings were off....something else to try if its getting adaquate power
