Tilt Steering Loose
I posted a message a few weeks ago about my steering column being loose. At the time I didn't think I had tilt steering but my uncle showed me that the turn signal also adjusted the tilt steering. Anyway, I still have a problem where I can actually move the whole upper part of the steering column about an inch or two to the left if I use the steering wheel to pull myself into the truck. I was told that there is a a hex bolt in the column that works its way loose over time on Ford trucks with tilt steering. Not sure if that is true or not. I was also told that you can drill into the upper part of the steering column and get an allen wrench in there to tighten it up. That sounds kind of odd to me but nothing is suprising me with this truck. Has anyone ever heard of this?? If not does anyone know how I can tighten up the upper portion of the steering column so that it is not so loose?
