Would like to have some installed. Any links to places to get them or should I just go with the dealer? Also, does anyone run different colored lenses other than yellow? I would like to run blue or Purple....thanks

Running colored lights on the front of your vehicle is a "no-no" to most cops. Blue lights are reserved for emergency personnel. Red on the front is for official rescue vehicles, cops, fire trucks, etc. Most of the colored lenses I've seen come with a disclaimer that they are for show/off-road purposes only, as they are illegal to have on the road.
Someone on this board replaced his factory roof clearance lights with clears. Didn't look bad at all.
As far as links to get them or dealer install, you can buy the parts from your dealership (or any place that sells the lights), drill the holes, run the wires through the headliner, etc. yourself and save quite a few $$$'s. Just take your time with the measurements, because once you drill a hole in the wrong spot, it's hard ro recover. I even heard that someone had the dealer install them, and found that they even spaced the lights incorrectly.
On a different note, what's with all the "blue" light requests lately? Are these trucks or ricers?
Just had the roof clearance lights added here locally by a custom shop. $149 out the door and they look great. Had 2 hard rains in the last 2 weeks and no leaks either. Very happy!!
I have the clear lens on my F-250. I got them from www.Stillen.com they were about $50.
They are legal when you add the amber bulb. Everyone seems to like them. I like them. Check my pics in my gallery.

Apparently ricers, but to each their own.
Those of you interested in colored rooflights, if you can solder, you can make your own, and have multiple colors.
What you do is you purchase from a place like JC Whitney or other mail order place clear roof lights, or slightly yellow rooflights (not the dark amber ones), and you take the light bulb and the socket for the bolt, out.
Then you drill a small hole, and screw to that a small perf board where you have soldered two high brightness yellow LED's in series with two 1K resistors, and two high brightness blue LED's in series with two 960 ohm resistors. Hook the resistors together, and the amber LED's to a switch, and the blue LED's to another switch (or the same switch, DPDT).
Blue, and amber/yellow. And LED's last a really long time as compared to lightbulbs.
The 93 F350 is about to get amber LED roof lights in the front, red LED roof lights over the rear of the crewcab, all the taillights are going to be LED, et all.
Only need to use an electronic flasher instead of a mechanical one, and the signals/hazzards work fine with LED's.
I'm VERY sure you can buy all of the above ideas aftermarket, already soldered together, if you look hard enough.

The LED lights are definately a "truck" thing... I've got a 5 foot LED light bar under the tailgate that integrates with my parking lights, turn signals, and brakes. This on top of my bumper marker lights on 304 stainless sticks and factory roof clearance lights. It's when people start trying to do funky purples & blues & what-not that my gut wrenches.
I've got a 2001 super duty that I ordered with roof clearance lights and they have never worked. I asked the dealer when I brought it in for it's first oil change to look at them and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. I figured this was an easy fix, but they wanted me to leave it overnight some time and get some schematics from Ford to try to figure it out. I haven't wanted to leave it yet so they still don't work. Anybody have any thoughts??
