Therea a shop up the road that will replace it for 100 bucks. And he garuntees his work so it is worth it to me instead of paying 450 for a timesert kit

What shop? I am not terribly far from you and was looking at getting the Timesert kits.
All of the coils have been replaced with crappy aftermarket ones, so as they go I'm replacing them with motorcraft/ denso coils. For those that dont know, denso coils and motorcraft coils are the exact same thing. Peel the denso sticker off and the motorcraft part number is under it but they're usually cheaper. So far I've replaced 4 of them. 2 cylinders had a misfire, one had tape on the boot, and I'm replacing cylinder 5 just because it's a PITA to get to.

Not to nit pick but, you are looking to have Timesert inserts installed (X10), a "kit" includes the tools needed to install the inserts along with a set of the actual inserts. .
I can see the interest in doing this but due to the cost of having a shop do all ten holes as a preemptive measure it wouldn't be the direction I would go. For me, I would change the plugs and boots (and carry a spare COP or two like I currently do) and over torque the new plugs to 29 ft/lbs which has seemed to work excellently for many forum members with the early mod motors. In the unlikely event of a plug blow out after that you can still continue your response after unplugging the fuel injector for the now open topped cylinder and carry on with the remaining 9 cylinders doing the work, that would work even if you are towing the 5K trailer you mentioned is sometimes on the hitch. Obviously it wouldn't be optimum, but it would get the job at hand done.
I definitely would not preemptively do the timesert or any other repair. I would replace one at a time as need be. Since I dont plan on doing 10 of them, it's cheaper to have the shop do the one that is buggered up. If you really want to do all 10, buy the kit and do it yourself!
Tore into the transmission today to investigate the delayed shift into drive (all other shifts are fine) and was not pleased with my findings. Previous owner said that the torque converter went out so they replaced it, but they didnt flush the trans or drain the pan. Dummies. I'm hoping the carnage was remnants of the torque converter failure and not a deeper problem, but I dont think I'm that lucky. For the cost, I replaced the filter, changed the fluid, and we will see what happens. I'll run it till it quits then put a rebuilt trans in it Dirty dirty magnet Clean pan
On the bright side, that isn't that much metal on the magnet. Did have a couple chunks though. Pretty sad they went through the work of removing the transmission but didn't change the fluid and filter. I hope they at least flushed the cooler. I hope it runs another 100,000 miles.
I put it back together and it still has the slow shift into drive. Reverse goes right in, but drive is delayed. I'm gonna drive it till it quits while I source a used transmission for it.
Started doing my revitalization for the Ex. New plugs, 2 new coils (misfire on 3 and 7) radiator, and front left wheel speed sensor.
Hope to have her back on the road soon, but with all my projects theres no telling! Still trying to finish the room for the baby that came 2 weeks ago!

Definitely going to use this ladder/top side creeper for my truck. Never thought of using multi ladder like so.
