Ford remote start using key fob??

New owner of a 2019 F450 KR here with another question.

How do I remote start the truck using the key fob? I thought I had it today, but the tailgate dropped instead. I assume I need to press a button 2X to get it to work? I am able to remote start the truck using the Ford Pass app on my phone, but have not been successful using the key fob.

Any ideas?

Joe

First, hit the lock button on the remote, then the 2x button.. twice

also, in the setup menu on the dash, you can set your climate control to either "default auto" or "last used". I prefer the last used so it cranks the a/c on before I get there.

pg 62 of the manual.

Thanks Todd. I am coming from 10 years of Ram ownership. On their fob, you just hit the 2x button twice and it starts. I will try this out tomorrow and also check the a/c settings.

Me too. Just traded in my 2012 Laramie Longhorn. Yes, just a tad different.

That is an example of crappy salesman. They should have went over the basics before you drove off the lot.

Two 2x buttons on the fob. You pressed the tailgate one. The other one is for the remote start.

This. Tons of good info in there about how your truck works. If you don't know how the keyless start works (which is OK), then it stands to reason that there are bunch of other cool features you don't know about. Grab a cup of coffee and cozy up with your manual. You'll be glad you did.

Just a heads up, if you keep your key fob in your pocket with other things, you can also lower the tailgate, and/or windows, even by accident.

I have a comment and a question. First, about reading the manual....my sister has a BMW X3, and the rear doors were set on child proof lock. Without looking at the car or the book I just signed into a BMW owners forum and asked the question.... Like I always do here. Only one guy answered. And his post was RTFM!!! with an angry red faced emoji.... what a JO. I told him so and replied that I am always on the Ford Truck forum and nobody ever said anything all nasty like that at least without posting a laughing face or something indicating they were busting *****. So I deleted the BMW account.
I have a Lariat Value package. So I have to use the key. No push button. What happens between remote start and getting in to drive as far as the key is concerned. I havnt even tried the remote yet as for me its mostly a winter kind of thing.

Thanks
