I combed through some older post in efforts to avoid asking but never felt confident in what I thought to be correct. Im looking to convert my 2000 2wd w/ 7.3 to 4wd and have to have the same great ratio in front. All of that to ask... Any ideas on the gears? My best guess is 4.30, but would rather not guess. Thanks for your information and inspiration. Love this site.
You are asking about the rear differential and it's tag, not the transmission, correct?
ALL PSD EXs came from the factory with 3.73 gears. If you suspect that the diff or gears have been changed along the way, then I wouldn't totally trust the tag. If rolling on stock sized tires how many RPMs does it turn at 60 MPH?

My apologies for the gaffe... You are correct, differential. Thank you for the information. I don't think it's been changed. I can't speak to the rpm's on stock wheels as I have 35's on my truck. 3.73 gears make the swap easier, found several axles with those gears.
