99 exp question

ok so long story short. I was in a huge storm, pulled off to a friend's property. Anyway i had ran up on a huge rock. My tranny pan got punctured. Didn't drive it , move it, etc after. I replaced the pan and filter. I drove the truck home no problems until i tried to turn it off. The truck wouldn't go into park. Started looking and noticed linkage cable was kinked. So i replaced. Truck still wouldn't go into proper gear, replaced neutral safety switch. Now the truck goes in gear, but will not move unless you rev up for awhile, once it starts to move it feels like back breaks are engaged. So now i have no idea what to check for next or where to start. Please help truck has been down for three months.
Its a 99 exp 5.4 triton

You've checked the fluid level with the engine running right ? Is the fluid still bright red in color ? No burnt smell ? Any transmission DTC codes on a scanner? Wheels spin freely if you do them by hand ?

Check the two cooling lines to make sure they didn't get damaged. Other than that it sounds like it's sucking air, meaning either the fluid level is still low, or the new filter isn't installed properly.

Could it be some pressure sensor or something like that. Its got plenty of fluid. If i check the coolant lines is there some way to check from there to see if there is any pressure? Also i read somewhere that the lines have to be vacuumed? Is that correct because i dont think it is. Thanks for all the responses.

Did you check the fluid level with the engine running and in park? When you hit the pan did it do any damage to the filter mounting that would cause a new filter to not seal up and suck air? How much damage (deep of a dent) was there to the pan? Not sure if these have the 2 different filters like some f150s but maybe they put in the wrong filter.
