I've never seen it done that. But it could work. It's just a lot of pressure even with the tires on the ground, so I've only done it with them up. The same when my steering wheel is crooked every freaking time from the alignment shop.
I do it on level ground. I then back truck up and roll up again and check my dimensions. That way I can confirm steering wheel alignment. It also sets the suspension in proper "load" so the wheels are like it is going down the road.
OK, I got the front end aligned on the old '96. I used 2 pc of Flat Bar Stock Like Timber used and bolted them to the Star or fifth lug of the Rotor. I had to take it on a longer trip today, about 200 miles and she ran straight and true. However, my steering wheel is a little bit off toward the passenger side. I was sure I had it properly adjusted but apparently a bit off. So I need to set it up and tweak it a bit. Thanks for everyones help.
