BRAKES - Need help...
Guys, '17 F350 (signature truck) at a stoplight this morning brakes got hard, now the pedal is nearly solid, parking brake light on, check brake system warning on the dash. Any ideas? Feels like anti-locks are engaging when slowing down, really need to mash the pedal. Appreciate your thoughts.

Check the vacuum line going to the brake booster. At least that’s where I’d start.

It's a diesel. It's hydroboost

Yeah? Mine’s diesel and it certainly looks like vacuum feeding the booster. Comes off the same manifold as the feed for the automatic hubs.
Mine is a 2019 though. That might be the difference.

Would a cracked brake fluid reservoir lid do anything? Shouldn't right? Does that chamber hold a vacuum? Just noticed mine is cracked.

Well that is interesting. All the info I've ever read here was that all diesels were hydroboost. Hmmm...learn something new every day...Thanks

It shouldn't. All that reservoir does is just hold the fluid.

Very weird indeed and I definitely wouldn’t drive it.
Take it to your Ford dealer or your local mechanic/tech that you use.

Might be the dually trucks get hydro boost? With a SB configuration the OP’s truck has to be SRW.

I got it. Vacuum line down below the master was disconnected. The hood was replaced last week (hail repair) they must not have made it "click". Thanks team.
