stock 6.4 with programmer
I've read through a lot of posts about using a programmer with the 6.4, but almost all of them are on a deleted truck and I'm wondering about benefits of using 1 with the emissions intact? I have a 2008 F350 cc lb dually with the tow boss package (4.30 gears) and they require emissions where I live. I only put a few thousand miles a year on the truck (3-5k), almost all are towing our 15-16k 5th wheel toyhauler. Everything is in good shape on the truck currently, with oil changes every 5k miles or less, fuel filters changed every 10k or less, all other recommended maintenance, and no signs of problems. I'm trying to get a bit more power for hills (I live in Utah) but mostly want something to monitor egt, so am thinking of buying an h&s mini maxx so I can also use it if/when I delete it in the future (I'd have to put everything back on for inspections). Am I ok to use the stock tow tune (or lowest hp above stock tow tune), or should I just use it as a monitor while it's stock?
