Rain Channel?
Yesterday I was looking around my 1986 F-150 and noticed this cracked caulking on seam behind the driver's side door. I took the photos below to show everyone. My question is - Is this where rain and water goes when coming from the cowl?
(My cowl- by the way- will have to be cleaned out and I will use the threads that I have found here to do that.)
I figure that in order to do this job that I have to take the door off, scrape out this old stuff and put in that 3M stuff that I bought when I did the drip rails above the doors.
If anyone has done this job please share any tips or insights that you learned from doing it. I am trying to cut down my "Oh crap" moments as much as possible.
Take care all - have a great weekend. Hope you are taking your Fords out and about.

Here is another photo taken from the same angle.

I cant help on how to do this repair with the fenders & doors on as mine were all off when I was rebuilding my 81 F100
If you think you can get in there to clean and coat it again I liked the SEM brushable seam sealer.
I used a small acid brush as it was small and was firm enough to move the sealer the way I wanted it to move.

Thanks for your response. I will look to see if I can get into that area without taking the door off to clean off the caulk and then put the sealer on it. If not, then the doors will have to come off. I will look up SEM brushable seam sealer since as you say there are many body panels there and It might be best for me to use a product that can be applied that thick.
Thanks again -
