I have an early build 99 v10. I just replaced my fuel pump and assembly (installed a motocraft) my fuel gauge is reading empty now. It should be around half a tank. I drove it around the block a few times and the needle moved to about an 1/8th. Any ideas? Is it something that needs run time to calculate?
I had the battery disconnected the entire time of replacing the it. I bought the whole assembly, so it came with a new sender and pump. Could I have bought the wrong one?
Since I've owned it, it's always kinda stumbled into a start up after sitting for awhile. Had my headgasket go out at 173k so I decided to just throw in a remaned engine. Start up symptoms didnt go away. I had my gf take it to work (works at ford) the guys there said my fuel pressure was bleeding off and that's what was causing the start up issue. About a week after that it started having a misfire. Threw a code for random misfire and cylinder 10 misfire. I thought it had to be caused by the bad/leaking pump. This morning when I started it up, it still stumbled
