Y block vs c4 transmission

I have in my truck a 302 1972 but if I want to find a originally y block as it was born but I really like my transmission. Do a c4 transmission fit with a y block engine and isn't it possible to find a y block and can I use the same engine suspension to bolt on the y block

The C4 transmission does not directly fit to the Y Block engine. There is an adapter kit available that will help. Be advised it's not cheap. MODERNIZE YOUR 50

The 302 uses a totally different mounting system than the Y Block engine. To refit the Y Block, you'll need to remove any modifications made to fit the 302, and restore any of the Y Block mounting points if they were removed or destroyed.

It will be a lot of work and cost a lot of money. You'll need to decide if it's truly worth it to go backwards in technology and horsepower.

A friend used a late model Ford AODE 4R70W transmission behind his Y-block and really likes the way it drives. He used a Baumann controller https://www.becontrols.com/aode.shtml#productmenu
and a PATC adapter https://transmissioncenter.net/shop/...y-block-motor/ Not a cheap conversion but he has the Y-block under the hood and the drivability of a late model, computer controlled transmission behind it. Personally I would keep the 302 SBF and just buy some Y-block valve covers to fit it.

Is it possible to find some y block valve cover that fit into a 302 because it's a long way if I have to make new engine suspension, the frame is totally restored with these suspension

Do a web search on valve cover adapters and you will find many options.

When I did the search Charlie suggested, I found this...

Your truck looks sweet, I wouldn't change the engine either.

Now that you have a solution for the valve covers, the next step is a bit harder...moving the distributor to the back of the engine! Just kidding...
