'17 blower module issues
The problem is for my wife's 17 expy but from what I can gather it's the same parts as the 150 and I know this forum is much busier than the Expedition forum.
The AC was intermittent on the vehicle. Would run for a while and shut off. Took the vehicle to the dealer and they say it's a bad blower motor. They replace the part for 400 bucks. It works for about a month and then the problem starts again. I read online that it can be the wiring harness to the blower control module. Jiggle the harness and the AC works. Things went well for about a week and then I noticed the harness was getting hot at times so I figured I better change it. I'm not paying the dealer to do it so I order the wiring harness and the module and replaced both this evening. Now the AC will run for about 30 seconds once the vehicle is turned on then it shuts off. It won't turn back on until you turn the vehicle completely off and then turn it back on.
Does anyone have any suggestions that don't involve taking it back to the dealer? It's wired up correctly and as far as I can tell I replaced the module correctly (there really isn't much to it.) I should add this is the automatic climate control.
*****Edited to add that I've discovered that if I take it off of the 'auto' setting and run it on any level other than full blast it will continue running. If ran on full blast it runs for 17 seconds, every time, and then shuts off. I'm thinking I have faulty replacement module.
Thanks in advance for any reponses.
