Talking Backup/boat lights

I have seen a few threads here on backup/boat loading lights,
I recently bought a set of driving/fog APC lights from my local discount auto store for 21 bucks this included the harness/relay and light switch.
I mounted the lights directly to the hitch cross member and discarded the switch that came with the lights for a square rocker switch with a light symbol on it, I mounted the light symbol on the switch backwards to indicate reverse lights and mounted the switch on the seat directly under the seat controller.
I think this a really sweet set up and am only into it for 25 bucks.
I did it this way because of the remarks I saw about people that had the hitch mounted lights and ended up busting them loading a trailer or boat.
Anyways pics are in my gallery if you are interested.

Have you tried the lights launching yet? The reason I ask is I am thinking of doing the same but have hesitated because I didn't think they would be that effective shining through the boat? Would like to hear how they actually work, the install is tops very clean.
I was thinking of cutting them into the bumper itself.

That looks great and I love the switch mounted there. Very clean. I'm still debating as to putting the lights on the hitch or the bumper. My bumper already has the holes pre-drilled so that would be easy. Plus, I think the wideness would be somewhat better?

Actually I did have them mounted under the bumper oeiginally and just did not like the way they looked so I moved them. They do work well for what I need which is just to see the boat ramp while backing mainly what I wanted was something to shine out to the sides of the boat and trailer because most of the boat ramps here are very skinny, it works very well if the boat and the ramp are on the same incline but if the boat is backing down the incline and the truck is not they do not do much but enough to still see the sides of the ramp. And when loading they work well without the boat on the trailer.
I did wire the switch/relay to keyed power so leaving them on on accident is no issue.
I would like if anyone knows where the sensor wire is for the headlights that makes the chime if you leave the lights on with the key out is so I can hook them to constant power and have the chime when they are left on. If anybody has a idea where this wire is let me know.
Thanks
Pat

made the hole with a dremel and then squared it with a file,
be carefull on the switch if it is too large it will hit the deat rail.
if is too big just lower it or use shrink tube on the connections.
