Has anyone installed or can confirm that the 9 inch solid sleeve is the same for the 9.75 axle? It appears that the some show it fitting the 9 and the 9.75 but isn't very clear. Then I saw something about a different part number if the pinion has 35 splines. I think this was on a 9 inch axle not the 9.75.
I picked up a 9.75 3.73 trac loc axle and it has noise and metal shavings were found inside. I plan on going through it and replacing whatever parts look bad and feel the solid crush sleeve is a wise choice.
To add to my research I have discovered that Yukon only makes gear sets for the 2011 and up 9.75 axle. I know I can use them but it requires a special crush sleeve as well and I'm not sure i can even make one. So if I go with Yukon I can not use a solid sleeve. I've emailed Yukon asking if I can even make my own solid sleeve but no reply yet.
I finally got ahold of someone at Yukon and was told yes, the crush sleeve eliminator kit SK CSF9-2PIECE does fit the 2010 9.75 gear set. If you use a Yukon gear set on a 9.75 axle that is 2010 or older the crush sleeve eliminator kit will not work. You have to use their special crush sleeve.
I wanted to purchase yukon gears but didn't just for that reason.
