Please Help

So the company I work for owns a 2014 F250 with the 6.7. An employee of ours was towing a covered trailer and two motorcycles, no more than 3000lbs. The trucks RPMs would all drop and the engine would go into "heavy duty mode" like it was trying to avoid overheating or something. Any idea what could cause this? We took it to two separate dealerships and they both told us the truck is totally fine. There have been no codes or anything like that. I don't want to keep spending money to have somebody tell me "It's fine".

Sounds like goes into limp mode? Or was it just the fan coming on hard? How far do the RPM's drop? Do you lose speed? If you mash the pedal, does it go? You dont say, but did you go to Ford Dealerships? Seems like it should throw a code if there were a problem.

I've been having this problem. 2011 350. All the gauges are normal, transmission temp is fine, rpms are fine, not using anymore fuel than normal. The fan kicks on and the truck sounds like it's working overtime, really hard.No codes. And the kicker is, that it will do it always when it's hot out or sunny. When it's raining no-problems.The truck doesn't want to shift. Have had it at 2 different dealers and the first time they did a program update last sept. and this worked through out the winter. This past June started doing it again.Took it to another dealer and no codes, couldn't find anything. They performed another update and this lasted about 2-3 days.
Soo,I'm thinking either a bad clutch fan, a bad transmission temp sensor or the PCM. Something is telling the PCM to go into safety mode. Dunno, very frustrating.
