I recently bought a 1985 ford f 150 with the 300 Inline 6. I am going to drive it while I restore it but I would like to do a motor swap for more HP. It currently has the stock manual transmission and inline 6. I am looking for more HP. What are my options for motor swaps without having to replace the current transmissions. Also what are some good recommendations for if the tranny does have to be replaced. What combinations do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance.

The torque for the 300 is great. I do like the idea of having a V8 with a smooth exhaust on it though as well. I know the ole 300s are great motors and hard to break, but the muscle is very tempting.
