1960 F-250 Carburetor Rebuild
I just got a 1960 F-250 with a 292 and a Holley 2300. It runs really good, but will sometimes stall at idle. The biggest issue is it stalls when down shifting or anything more than a vey light brake coming up to a stop sign. I don't know much about big carburetors. I to the mixture screws out to spray carb clean in and blow them out, and they do not even match. One is shorter and blunt and the other is longer and comes to a sharp point. I bought a rebuild kit, but it didn't even come with new screws. I have some people saying just rebuild it with the old screws, and some (who I think I agree with more) saying they need to be replaced, and that I should consider getting a new metering block because the seats may be screwed up from somebody overtighten those screws. I'm nervous to tear into the carb just because I don't really know what I'm doing. I suppose I just need some guidance from somebody familiar with these motors. Thanks
