6.7L engine changes over the years
looking for some information on the actual hard part changes of the 6.7 over the years. Like parts that can’t be easily upgraded(oem or aftermarket). Right now based on what I can find online, it looks like 15+ would be the best performer.
I’m trying to figure this out because I’m starting to look at the salvage auctions for a donor vehicle for a swap. I’ve already bought a ford service dvd for a 15 so I can begin to outline the systems that can be removed from the pcm and bcm and not cause a no start condition.
I am already prepping the swap vehicle now, but given how many people post in various forums about the swaps “they’re in the middle of” and never get off the ground I think I’m going to wait until I at least have the donor vehicle and the engine at least on the frame of my swap vehicle.
Also, has any swaps like this been completed other than the 6.7 Lightning?
Thanks for the help!
Things that I would absolutely do if I were swapping engines are putting a Rudy’s cold side intercooler pipe in and the CP4 disaster prevention kit in.
