trany bolt indentification!

Hey guys,

Been creeping the site for awhile for my other vehicles, finally have a question I cant find and I'm probably gonna get roasted. oh well.

I was looking at a 2005 f350 with the 6.0. The truck seems pretty sweet for the price, starts up great, seems like zero blow by, not shuddering or anything like that.
It shifts great too... but there is this weird bolt in the tranny
like 10-12 mm that was all jacked up and I was able to just pull it out... and when I plugged it back in something inside the tranny grinded it... (truck was on). It was directly underneath the tranny, not a plug, and there was nothing leaking out of it. Wish I coulda got a picture but it was pouring rain and I was lying down in the mud lol. Just wondering by that description if anyone could identify it or has an idea what that is. Not sure if its some sort of inspection hole or something? Any info would be good as it is a hour+ drive to the truck.

After a couple hours of googling this... I belive this is the small bolt that goes in the torque converter cover? But why would it grind?
Thanks guys!

A picture is worth a thousand words in this case. It sounds like someone may have stripped threads on a bolt and tried to install a longer one. A pic of the location would help. Was it horizontal or vertical? Between engine and flywheel?
