my son has a 1993 f150. i went over to change the waterpump qnd the stock bolts arent long enough for the new one.whats uo with that

Are you sure you have the correct replacement pump? None of the bolts look like they broke when removing them?

 

no they all came out fairly easy

It's not uncommon for the new ones to be thicker at the mounting flange. The originals were much thinner and prone to cracking or breaking off entirely. When I replaced mine, I went to the hardware store and got longer bolts, and two of the three holes on my original water pump were split or broken off entirely, causing me a coolant leak. Just be sure you don't get them so long that you drive them into your #1 cylinder wall. And be mindful of torque specs--they don't require a whole lot.
