Transfer Case Woes

So I pick up my rig from the local mechanic after getting the rear end gears swapped out yesterday. Heading home , I thought there was some noise so I took it back to him today and he called me in to see for myself. With the driveshaft removed, there was quite a bit of vibration and hum going on when in gear and spinning to 3000 rpm, no load. We drained the case to inspect the oil, but it didn't look too bad for being 2yrs old with 20k miles since it was last changed. No metal shavings and not burned at all. My guess is that a bearing is starting to wear out. There's only 95k on the rig, but the previous owner had it lifted for who knows how long. He didn't have the driveshafts lengthened or use spacers of any kind, so I'm guessing the t-case took the brunt of it. U-joints are solid, too. He's gonna source me a used unit in good condition and get back to me. Was supposed to hit the road tomorrow for a reunion pulling my tent trailer. Don't know if I should Park it for now or risk it. I doubt the problem occurred in the last 6mi, but don't know why a gear change would make it so much more pronounced. Went from 3.73 to 4.30 on 285s. Had no noise or hum prior to this, although it's always had a little shimmy driving over 70mph. Thoughts?
