knocking @ mid-range RPM
I bought my pickup about a year ago, has a zillion miles on it, with a 300 straight 6. First thing i did was change my oil, the old appeared to be pennzoil, chunks of parafine came out. I drove it home and noticed that there was a really quiet knocking, only at 2000 or above RPM. It does not sound like rod bearings, much quieter, but when the truck idles, or it is hot, the oil light comes on. I replaced the filter and the oil with mobil 10w-30, and put Seafoam oil cleaner in it.
