Well I wish I head read through this site a little more before I ordered from 4-wheel Parts Warehouse.
I ordered four tires from them on Monday under there buy 3 get one free deal. I signed up for that credit card they advertise because of the 0% interest deal. I also ordered some parts (Lift and Wheels) from Summit Racing that same day. I called 4 Wheel Parts on Wednesday expecting to get a tracking number. After listening to a phone ring for longer then I care to admit I hang up from the internet numbre and dial the regular number. It's ansered right away and the kid takes my info. On hold for 15 minutes to tell me the order is being processed and will ship that day and to call later for the tracking number. Called that night spent more time on hold or listening to a phone ring. Today I call and the guy tells me after being tranfered 4 times and put on hold 20 minutes that they have to see if the account for the card has been approved yet. I tell them I hope so because the stuff I ordered from Summit with it is sitting here on the porch!
Okay they are going to call back in twenty minutes. It's now been another hour!
Well I finally got a hold of Brian at 4 Wheel Parts on the main 800 line. He was most helpful and aplogized for everything. They where running the card as a discover card instead of "CarCareOne" card. He finished the order and the tires are on there way.
I don't like dealing with 4 Wheel Parts only because of their sales tactics and their obvious commission status. That being said, the last time I wanted time to think about buying a couple of products, the guy offered me a chance to tell him what "it would take to make this deal" go through. The final price was supposed to be the best I could get it anywhere. But I was on a budget and needed time to think about it anyway. I called up Summit Racing for the same parts and Summit Racing came in even lower.
And I like Summit Racing based on my in-store dealings with them, too. Generally they'll help you fit (via cross reference and part specs) a neat part to whatever vehicle you're trying to make perform better. And they go the extra step, or take the extra time, without the commission pressure on you or them. Somehow that reminds me of doing business the old way - the right way.
I just wish Summit Racing would list the number of truck parts 4 Wheel Parts pictures on their site. Summit doesn't carry as many truck-specific manufacturers, and their truck tire selection could be a lot better.
I agree summit is a good place. I just ordered a cat-back system made my summit. I got the lift, wheels centers, and lugs from summit. The only reason I went with 4 Wheel Parts was becuase of the buy 3 get one free deal. It saved my over $120.
What kind of lift did you buy from summit? I love summit, I got my flowmaster kit from them, i got it in 3-4 days and they only charged me 7.95 of a handling fee, they don't charge shipping. I ordered a chrome differential cover from them too. Good place.
