I have a '59 F100 Short Bed that i want to convert to single pane windows. I have the glass and bought a "universal" power window kit, but I'm wondering if there is a kit specific to my year of truck. Alternatively, I wonder if anyone can give me some guidance on installing this "universal" nightmare. Thanks.
Hi Dan,
Sorry I can't help you, but what are single pane windows? I have a 1960 F100 Panel Truck with its original glass, well by the way it's cracked and crazied I assume it's original,
I am still learning about this stuff and I've owned mine for 8 years but only just joined a forum.
Do I imagine you have sliding half glass in the doors? Just curious if I don't ask I won't kniw thanks,
Gideon
I bought the Autoloc universal kit for mine. I mounted with some spacers to align to the opening. I fabricated a panel to attach the motor and lower end. I am using a plywood panel mock up for the window
Probably should not say it here but I did the conversion on a VW bug. They call it a "California Kit" on the bug. The window part was very simple. Remove vent window and frame. Replace door glass with one piece unit.
