My Current Projects
As purchased.
On my son's trailer on it's way to me. Truck does run and shift and drive however.
After an hour of digging out. When starting all you could see was top of cab and windshield.
Bed, tailgate totally rusted out due to storage conditions.
Just before towing home. Running but no brakes due to bad vacuum booster and master cylinder. Could not shift from cab due to broken shift linkage in column. Has C6 auto. The only body parts that are any good are hood and passenger door.
New member, have been lurking for some time. Thought I would share a current project I am working on. I inherited a 1974 F250 4x4 from a family member who passed away recently. He purchased it new and was the only owner. It has 33,000 original miles on it. I know this for a fact as he lived nearby and was the only driver of the truck. He took great care of the truck when first purchased. He had some personal issues and later it fell into disrepair and he parked it. He was a recluse and a hoarder so it was parked in terrible conditions.
I thought it was still worth saving and want to do so. My brother-in-law and I dug it out, got it running and then I towed it across town to my home. I purchased a 1976 F150 as a body donor for the 1974 F250 4x4. Would welcome your direction on body swaps, frame fuel tank installation and related items. I have already transferred some small items between the cab interiors.
My plan is to swap to bodies so I can start and move each truck. I have very limited space as I live in town and do not want a in process project sitting in front of my house. The 1976 F150 is a running, driving truck, runs well actually. I will attach a couple of photos of each truck for those who are interested. I welcome your help and Thank You!
