At a members recommendation, I installed the AVS new style vent shades. I’ve held off for a year not only because I wasn’t certain if I’d dump the truck with the oil burning issue, but because I didn’t want the wind noise from the shades.
Well, these new “continuous” style vent shades are mouse quiet, and to me, look much better than the old style. Very happy.
Thats too bad. Sorry about that. I’ve put them on almost every truck, and in close to 3 million miles, I’ve had one set start to loosen, but after 10 years. I think the tape dried out. It was a quick fix. They’ve been on another two without fail.

Yeah an easy fix for sure......mine went bye bye out west at about 85 mph on a back freeway .....
Wasn't going to stop and look for it
Sorry, maybe a dumb question since I've never owned them, what is their purpose?
You can open window during rain ....water don't come in
You can crack window parked in sun ....not so hot when you get in, no one sees window cracked open and if it rains no drips inside on the electrical stuff ...window controls ...mirror adjust ...power locks.
