Clutch tick ???

1976 F100 5.0L (302), 3spd on the tree, 2wd

Havent driven the truck in about 6 years, been in rebuild status. Cranks and runs perfect. Revs in neutral perfect. When placing in any gear and rev it begins to tick or click when clutch engages the gear. And clicking accelerates with throttle. Any takers? Engine was replaced by previous owner.... a flywheel issue? Or clutch?

Update: initial clicking when in gear went away but returned a little when accelerating at high throttle.

Sounds like maybe a throw out bearing ? Does it sound like a tick or a chatter? And does it go away when you push in the clutch.

Yes goes away when clutch is pushed. And no sound in neutral. Unsure what you mean by chatter... doesnt sound like metal tapping though.

Well than to me "sounds" no pun intended, like probably a throw out bearing. IMO a lifter ticks and a throw out bearing chatters. Sorry I am at a loss of words at the moment to describe a clutch chatter. Like air spinning a dry wheel bearing maybe?

I'll look into it and any help is good help so thank you. I only backed the truck down the driveway and back into the garage due to rain. so I could do alot of diagnostics yesterday. I'll drive it a little more today to try and figure it out
