I have just purchased a 1994 Ford Explorer and the breaks, pads, drums, computer chip have all been replaced prior to purchase of truck.
Here is the problem......Once in a while (either on hill or straight road) it will make this grinding sound that is located on the drivers side and the break peddle will go to the floor and it will have difficulty stopping (skipping motion) a 1/2 a foot or so! And only sometimes when this happens the ABS light comes on. Pretty Scarry!
The machanics have tried to make it miss behave....but they don't know what it happening! They don't want to replace anything they don't have too....
Anybody go through this or have ideas what this might be....your help would be greatly apprecated!
with ABS you must be certain not to let air in the ABS system when changinging out parts. It sounds like you need to have it power blead to purge the air.
