Track bar bushings

Has anyone tried Moog track bar bushings? The upper Energy bushing on my '79 F150 has gone bad. It hasn't been 8 months since I installed those, and the truck hasn't seen much hard use. Orielly's will have a set of Moog's for me by 12:30 today. I hope they're a little more durable.

That was fun. The bolt and bushing sleeve were seized. The bolt would spin, but I couldn't drive it out. I even tried using a 4 lb hammer and a rifle take off barrel as a punch. I ended up using a Milwaukee power hacksaw and carbide blade to cut through the bolt on both sides of the sleeve. I haven't seen that happen before. Oh, and my memory was off on when I installed those Energy bushings. It's been about 2 years.

So anti-seize on the new hdwr? 2 years beats 8 months, at least it was not a Titanium bolt....I have felt your pain with that trac bar hdwr....and other places (steering box bolts), cheap bolts ='s almost FAIL. All jack stands were on loan...so next best thing to nothing but a jack.

I was not impressed with Energy's bushings either, they didn't last very long and the steering never felt as tight as it was when I changed to Moog.
Always something when you work on our old rigs glad you got it off.

77&79, I used anti seize for sure, instead of the silicone grease the bushings usually come with. I did use the white goo on the rest of the contact surfaces. I drove the truck to town for lunch and steering is just fine again.

Pickupmanx2, I was disappointed and surprised that the bushing failed. The lower bushing was still good, though I replaced it also. I've used Energy stuff on several vehicles. Currently, my Jeeps, and Dodge 2500 have several Energy bushings and all are fine. If I was a betting man, I'd lay money that the Moog's are the same bushings from the same Chinese sewer. But they're blue. I like blue. I hate red bushings.
